REMOVALIST SERVICES

GENERAL QUOTES

The quotes provided over the phone or in-person discussions are estimates and not fixed prices for your move unless we agreed this before. We offer a quote based on the number of trucks and removalists to estimate the duration of the move, which relies on the information you provide. However, this does not guarantee completion within a specific timeframe.

DATE AND TIME

Any dates or pick-up times provided are indicative and not guaranteed. If we cannot reasonably meet a specified date or time, we reserve the right to change it before the move.

CLEAN ITEMS, SUITABLE BOXES, LOOSE ITEMS

Your items should meet cleanliness standards, and we reserve the right to refuse moving items deemed dirty by our movers. All items must be packed in suitable boxes for transport. We will not move boxes that are not sturdy enough or be responsible for damage if items break inside them. Loose items are not carried as they destabilize the truck's load.

DANGEROUS ITEMS, BALCONY LIFTS, LPG GAS CYLINDERS, PETROL CANS, ETC.

If our movers perceive risks in moving an item or undertaking a particular activity, we may refuse the job. Balcony lifts require approval from the supervisor for safety. Additional charges apply for balcony lifts, agreed upon by the supervisor and client.

We do not transport LPG gas cylinders or petrol cans.

PARKING IN NO STOPPING ZONES

We will only park in no stopping zones for loading or unloading if you agree to assume full responsibility and payment for any potential fines incurred.

Local Moves – Greater Sydney 

PRICES, HOURLY RATE, CALLOUT/CALLBACK FEES

Our prices are $150 per hour PLUS GST, with additional charges in 30-minute increments. Callout or callback fees may apply depending on the location.

Our rates are not fixed sums

STARTING AND FINISHING TIME

Time begins upon our removalists’ arrival at the pick-up location and ends when the last item is unloaded from the truck, unless you require additional assistance.

MINIMUM RATE

Monday to Thursday requires a minimum of 2 hours, while Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays require a minimum of 4 hours, with Sundays incurring a 16% surcharge.

RUBBISH REMOVALS

If you require rubbish removal services, our removalists will dispose of it at an appropriate waste center. You are responsible for paying the tipping fee and the movers’ time. Payment must be made upon receipt of the tipping bill.

SPECIALIST ITEMS

Advance notification is required for moving:

  • Double-door or French-door fridges

  • Pianos

  • Marble items

  • Glass table tops or cabinets

  • Pool tables

  • Large potted plants (must be dry and sometimes without soil)

  • Animal enclosures

  • Items heavier than 80kg or larger than 3 meters

  • Delicate items requiring special precautions

 

We reserve the right to refuse to move these items if not informed beforehand, with additional charges possible if we agree to move them.

 

YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND WARRANTIES

You warrant that the information provided is accurate.

We are not responsible for goods not collected or any loss or damage if you or your representative is absent during the move.

Inspect all goods upon completion of the move. Notify us of any damage within 48 hours. We do not tolerate rude behavior and reserve the right not to complete a job if professionalism is lacking.

Movers will assist with tasks but are not specialists. We do not guarantee the completion of tasks to trade standards.

 

DELIVERY

If we cannot deliver due to no authorized person or access issues, we may charge for overnight storage and subsequent redelivery.

CANCELLATION POLICY

No fee for cancellations or reschedules made 48 hours before pickup. After this, the full booking amount is charged. If we cancel, your deposit will be refunded.

PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure bookings. The remaining amount must be paid in full upon completion by cash, bank transfer, or credit card (with a 2% surcharge). Failure to pay within seven days incurs debt collection fees.

GENERAL

 

We accept cash, bank transfer, or credit card (with a 2% surcharge). Cheques are not accepted.

VEHICLE SIZES

We aim to provide the correct truck size based on your information. However, we are not liable if the provided truck is too small, necessitating multiple trips. Each truck carries around 20 cubic meters and has a height clearance of 3.2m.

METHOD OF CARRIAGE AND SUBCONTRACTORS

We will use reasonable routes for transport. Tolls are your responsibility unless specified otherwise. We reserve the right to subcontract services if necessary.

INSURANCES & LOSS/DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

We have Public Liability Insurance. While we take care, we may not be liable for damage to goods already in poor condition or extremely fragile. Customers are responsible for adequately protecting fragile items during transport.

 

Missing Items or Damage Notification Policy

Customers must inspect items post-move. Any missing items or damage must be reported within 24 hours. Failure to do so may limit claims. Contact us via email or phone, providing the necessary evidence.

Alaskan Removals retains the right to amend this policy. By using our services, you agree to this policy.
